Les Schwab Amphitheater

I had the honor of being asked to photograph some of the summer concerts at the Les Schwab Amphitheater this summer. I’ve photographed many bands in my time doing this, but this was my first shot at national acts like Tenacious D, Beck, The Shins, Counting Crows, Metric, & Huey Lewis and The News. It was a blast to say the least and Looking forward to another round next summer.

Suterra

This summer I shot images for local business Suterra. It was a very fun project and I’m always up for going behind the scenes to photograph the inner working of different industries. Suterra manufactures synthetic bug pheromones for commercial pest control in their facility here in Bend, Oregon.

Hopeless Jack and the Hansome Devil

Friday Night I got to photograph a band that I really love, Hopeless Jack and the Handsome Devil. Jack plays some of the best delta blues I’m ever heard in person. Really looking forward to these guys returning to Bend.

Sheri

Been waiting for months to get a chance to shoot with my friend Sheri. Was hoping to do a location shoot with her, but time and weather just didn’t work out, so we played in the studio today. Sheri is a triathlete and a pretty badass all around outdoorswoman. I was going for something very commercial/editorial. All around pretty happy with the results.

Melissa

This weekend I got to photograph my new friend Melissa. This was my first chance to play with my new Nikon D3s after months of waiting for my D3 to be repaired. Though I had been shooting with an old back up D200 and borrowing a D700 while I had been waiting, my creative juices had been on hold for 3 months. This actually turns out to be a good thing, not being able to shoot how I’d like, with what I’d like has caused many ideas to fester in my mind. I know, I know… It’s not the camera, it’s the photographer… to a point. Things like shadow detail and exposure latitude are pretty huge. Also there is the fact that my motor memory is synced with the D3, shooting with the D700 was fine and all, but the time lost with trying to find buttons instead of knowing where they are instinctually, was a bit frustrating. Fussing with a camera while shooting isn’t a good thing. Now that I’m fully back up and running, I’m very excited to be making some fun and creative images this year.

White Background Product Photography

People tend to think that most of what I do is shoot food and people, but I shoot hundreds of products on a white background each year.

Prineville Data Center

On Friday, Steve Tague and myself had the honor of being the main event photographers for the opening of the new Facebook Data Center in Prineville, Oregon. It was very cool to be part of such an amazing event. Sometimes one loses site with what a huge impact Facebook has had on history, communication and technology, but when your standing inside it, it all becomes quite clear. The amount of effort that was put into the sustainability of the data center was landmark and instead of keeping it all a company secret, they are publishing their new technology for other businesses to follow in their path.

Band Photography

One of the funnest things I get to shoot is bands and musicians. For one I love music and secondly, I think as fellow artists there’s a mutual respect and commendatory.
